HEAD HEIST
IN DEVELOPMENTHead Heist is an action co-op 3D third-person extraction heist where instead gold and money you steal something more precious, human thoughts. Inspired by the layered dream logic of Inception, the agent confrontations from The Matrix, and the mind-diving mechanics of Psychonauts, the game puts you inside NPC minds navigating procedurally generated levels while managing a physics-based tactical backpack. Each run can be approached through stealth, force, or a combination of both.
The game runs across two modes. During the heist itself you infiltrate, dodge suspicion and extract mind fragments. Each fragment carries a story, a memory, or a secret with a market value. In the shop simulator, unlocked after each run, you price and sell those fragments, turning what you stole into a second strategic layer. A post-heist Narrative Impact Report then shows how your intrusion permanently changed the target.

Main Challenge
Scope and identity defined the development. The team was small and shifted during production, creating constant pressure to reshape features. Every step toward a better concept also shifted the game's mechanical identity, making it hard to lock a stable foundation. Making the game not just technically interesting but genuinely fun was its own challenge: tuning tension, pacing, and reward loops alongside a novel premise required constant iteration. Pitching to industry veterans added another layer: the game drew from co-op extraction trends that not all experts were immediately familiar with, making the vision hard to picture without playing it.
Challenge Solution
To stabilize the development, I established clear Design Fundamentals. This framework quantified every aspect of the game. From procedurally generated mind levels and unique VFX to complex NPC behavioral models. By setting MVP, Viable, and Ideal values for features like the physics-based backpack, 'Butterfly Effect' narrative reports, and dynamic environmental transformations, the team gained a concrete roadmap that balanced technical complexity with core fun.
